Innovative design prize
29.06.2008
At famous world meeting of PPG pilots and manufacturers, held every two years in Basse-Ham (France), Piotr Dudek and Michael Campbell-Jones received an award honouring innovative paraglider design. The prize itself was a metal bush of Daniel Svarovski's company.
Since the prize is a single piece, it was decided that will be exchanged periodically between its holders, being displayed for half of the year at each headquarters. For the first term it went to England.
Basse Ham is a little town in Lorraine, in the vallley of Moselle. Every two years the festival gathers pilots and fans of motorized flight form all over the world. The event steadily grows and remains the most important PPG meeting.
Beside exposition of paragliders, paramotors, trikes, engines and all kind of PPG toys, there was usual attempt at world record in the number of simultaneously flying paramotors. The attempt succeeded and number was raised to 325 paragliders. Interestingly, they were counted by three linked computers. Two of them counted flying crafts, and one checked the landings.
Dudek Paragliders Team was of course present and actively participated in the events.
A touching moment for us was the reception by Piotr Dudek a prize honoring innovative paraglider design that raised quality as well as safety of flight to a different level. Specifically it meant successful introduction of reflex profile to powered paragliders. The prize was simultaneously given to former trade partner of Dudek Paragliders, Michael Campbell-Jones.
