Wojtek Hewig

In Friday a shattering news reached us: our long-time friend Wojtek Hewig died in a tragic accident. We extend our deep condolences to his family and friends for such a great, unimaginable loss.
Wojtek was a very experienced pilot, involved in creating new testing procedures for the reflex paragliders, as required by German test bodies. It was thanks to his personal efforts and determination that such paragliders were at all approved for distribution in Germany. And most of all, he was a kind, easy and supportive person.
During that tragic flight Wojtek has been using his own solutions to provoke deep, over-procedural deflations, in order to gather knowledge needed for further research and discussions concerning development of new testing procedures. One of the deflations resulted with a cravatte and a sustained rotation. So far nobody knows why he neither stopped the rotation, nor threw the reserve. The case is being investigated by the state aviation authorities and the prosecutor's office.
