Karen Skinner sets new world record on a Plus
Tuesday, 19 April 2011
Karen has beaten her own altitude record by 1000 metres, breaking the 5 km barrier with a result of 5102 m! She did it during first meet of Spanish paramotor league in Alburquerque. She flew a Dudek Plus with PAP Moster.
A day earlier during her first attempt Karen achieved altitude of 4500 m, but was forced to break climbing due to failure of the oxygen system. She decided to repeat the attempt the very next day. After trying out the system she took off at 5:30 PM, carrying 18 litres of fuel. The climb to 5102 metres took 95 minutes. This time everything worked flawlessly and no problems were encountered.
We at Dudek Paragliders remain under impression and congratulate her heartily.
