Shark
Sport paraglider
Description
SHARK: tamed aggressionParagliding is your addiction. Your real life began when you first rose off the Mother Earth and now you wonder how it was possible to waste so much time. Today you have to catch up, so you fly whenever it is possible. You know what your wing is telling you and you like it. You fly the active way and it requires quite a deflation for you to notice it at all. You are proud of your skills and want to show it off to the others. You are dreaming of long distances and top scores, but still you are not crazy enough to go for uncertified protos with an aspect ratio over 6. Your wing has to be fast AND safe.
Looks like Shark was created especially for you.
- a wing with remarkable passive safety, yet destined for sport flying pilots
- great lift coefficient,
- fast and rigid,
- easy at launch,
- perfect stability and tuck resistance,
- direct and efficient steering,
- dedicated cross-country paraglider,
- effective speed system,
- flawless on winch and as a PPG
Shark is a sport canopy pilots who wish to compete, still perhaps not going to occupy the top places in international rankings. An advanced recreational pilot can master a Shark as well, still he should be well acquainted with thermal and cross-country flying (we estimate 50 hours of airtime yearly to be a minimum). Nevertheless, Shark will be professionals' choice too, especially when they will look for a while off the international merry-go-round.
With its rather small surface in relation to pilot weight, Shark achieves good speeds and little sink. It makes impression of a very fast and rigid wing. The handling is nice and acccurate, and forces at the brakes are proportionate to pilot's input. Everyone should like its direct responses. Shark is of much help to pilot while centering lift. Efficient speed system allows long glides between thermals and can be used without apprehension.
The Shark is unwilling to stall and gives clear warnings. One must emphasize its great stability and resistance to collapses, even in turbulences. Paraglider does winch pretty good without tow assist devices, has excellent inflation and take-off.
New aerofoil is the source of high lift coefficient and safety factor, and V-ribs are responsible for regular surface shape. All cells but the outer ones remain open. On trailing edge we have applied some rings to improve handling, and the stabilizers are closed with Velcro straps that make removing the dirt and sand out of the wing very easy. Shark features new sport risers which are thinner, lighter and connect to suspension lines with smaller quicklinks.
Upper-level rigging is made of non-sheathed, silicone-coated and prestretched Dyneema Ultimate lines (0,8 mm diameter). Main suspension lines are made of Dyneema Ultimate as well, with polyester sheath and various diameters. The cloth we have chosen is the reliable SkyTex Aquatic, SkyTex New and SkyTex HardFinish.
Aspect ratio: 5,84
Cell number: 65
Shark 24 and 26 are certified as AFNOR Performance.
